DESCRIPTION


A horizontal sliding security window system comprising a double fronted outer window and a free sliding internal sash. The double outer window has one glazed area and the other is fitted with a stainless steel mesh. The sliding sash is glazed. It seals the mesh side when closed and is weather tight and draught proof. To open the SafeVent window one simply slides the sash over the glazed front area exposing the mesh to allow ventilation.
The window is constructed ether from fully welded UPVC extruded profile fully reinforced or Aluminium extruded thermal break profile. Wood and Steel may also be used.
A roller is fixed to the sliding pane, which runs on a stainless steel track fixed into the outer frame.
The window can be internally or externally beaded. When the higher threat level is deemed to be from inside a building the window is externally beaded and extra security glazing tape is used to fix the glass units in place.

  • Aluminium: AlMgSi 0.5 Type 6060/6063 T5 in condition F22 (according to
    NBNP21-001and DIN1725).

  • Tolerance according to DIN17618.

  • Sealing: E.P.D.M. according to DIN 7863, TV 110, NFP 85301, ISO3994.

  • Tested and approved according to an artificial ageing test of "Plexi glass"
    Combined with vulcanised rubber.

  • Co-extruded profiles: according to DIN 7863, TV 110, NFP 85301, ISO
    3994, tested and approved according to an artificial ageing test of "Plexi
    glass" combined with vulcanised rubber.

  • Thermal break: polyamide strips PA 6.6. 25% reinforced with glass fibre.

  • Electrostatic Powder coating: according to the guidelines of A.P.A.-
    Qualicoat in most of the current RAL-colours. The composed profiles (with
    Thermal break) can be coated with different inner and outer colours ("Bi-
    Colour").

  • Anodisation in satin or bronze colours with EWAA/EURAS-Qualinod quality
    Label.

  • New: Possibility to colour in wood structure to imitate different
    wood structures (powder coated according to Qualicoat).

  • The profiles consist of 2 aluminium extrusions which are separated from
    one another by polyamide strips PA 6.6.25 reinforced with glass fibre. A
    gluing thread, rolled and pushed in together with the thermal break profile
    ensures a strong adhesion after melting and flowing, when the profiles are
    heated in the hardening furnace.

MESH

  • Anti tamper stainless steel grille, 1.5mm thick black powder coated.

  • Perforation:- 3mm diameter holes @ 4mm centres to give 51% open area or 2mm diameter @ 3mm centres to give 40 % open area. Grille fixed with anti tamper screws, which are concealed with an extruded PVCu trim that clips in securely and is silicone sealed.

FIXING

  • Frame fixings – zinc coated screws and stainless steel anti-tamper screws.

  • Structural fixings – Liner braces fixed to window then to reveal.

  • Sealants – Silicone sealant

GLAZING

  • Outer pane – 8.4mm Laminated ‘K’ Active self-cleaning.

  • Space – 10mm Argon filled gap with bronze coloured aluminium spacer bar.

  • Inner pane – 10mm toughened safety glass.
